Preliminary Phytochemical and Acute Toxicity Studies of Different Extracts of Guiera Senegalensis
Abstract: The leaf of Guiera senegalensis is used in the management of many diseases in Nigeria and many African countries, but the medial lethal doses (LD50) of its different extracts are not widely investigated. To evaluate the phytochemical constituents and acute toxicity indexes of aqueous, hexane, dichloromethane and methanol leaf extracts of G. senegalensis, basic phytochemical screening methods were applied. While up and down procedure and Lorke’s method was used for …

Phytochemical Screening and Structural Elucidation of Extracts from Garcinia kola (Heckel) Seeds
Abstract: This study evaluated the bioactive components of G. kola seeds extract to further establish its medicinal potentials. Extracts were obtained using different solvents thus; ethanol, methanol, ethyl acetate, acetone, cold and hot water. Phytochemical (quantitative) screening showed that saponins, flavonoids, terpenoids, tanins, glycoside and alkaloids are present in the G. kola extracts: however, the quantities vary with regards to the extraction solvent used. The highest quantity of phenols (35.63±0.06 mg/g) …

Phytochemical and Solubility Test of Guava, Jambolan, Ber & Lakshmi Taru Leaves
Abstract: The current research study aimed to conduct a comprehensive phytochemical screening of four distinct plant leaves, namely Guava, Jambolan, Ber, and Lakshmitaru, all of which are found in the Madan Mohan Herbal Garden located at JNCHRC in Bhopal. This screening process involved the preparation of ethanolic extracts from the plant leaves. The analysis revealed the presence of various phytoconstituents, including tannins, phenolic compounds, flavonoids, saponins, alkaloids, terpenoids, steroids, carbohydrates, and …

Phytochemical Screening and Nephroprotective Activity of Citrus maximus
Abstract: Several plants with medicinal properties are used to treat diseases. Many people rely on traditional medicines, chiefly plant-based, for their major health care needs. The wide biological and medicinal properties, higher safety margins and affordability, make plant based medicines attractive for use in developing countries for primary health care. Citrus maxima belong to the family of Rutaceae; the phytochemical screening showed the presence of alkaloids, terpenoids, sterols, flavonoids and carbohydrates. …

Quantitative Determination of Isomeric Components of essential oils by RP-HPLC-PDA in multi-herbal tablets
Abstract: Essential oils are lipophilic and highly volatile secondary plant metabolites, principally mono- and sesquiterpenes. The widespread usage and applications in biopharmaceutics and cosmoceutics of these components drives their quality assessments criteria to be established. Gas chromatography is one of the predominantly used technique for analyzing volatile oils. Although Gas Chromatography employs estimation designs operated at elevated temperatures leading for plausible structural alterations of thermo labile compounds. Hence, a novel gradient …
