Lithological Characterization and Reservoir Characteristics by Computerized Tomography Assisted Micro Density Log of the Rock
Abstract: Lithological characterization of the unconsolidated rock from heavy oil field has been attempted using X-ray computerized tomography imagine techniques. A micro density log is generated to obtain the hidden information of such variations along the depth at microlevel, which normally is not available through conventional log. Useful exploratory leads have been obtained through characterization of the nature of reservoir using simple petro-physical techniques on conventional cores by defining reservoir grade, …

Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) Process through Miscible Gas Injection: A Case Study of an Iranian Oil Reservoir
Abstract: Speedy computers and development in equations’ numerical solutions have enhanced applying simulation to predict the behavior of oil and gas reservoirs. The pressure in hydrocarbon reservoirs reduces overtime due to utilization of oil and gas resources until the fluid pressure itself is no more able to transfer it to the surface, and even if it reaches to the surface, its production is not cost-effective. Whereas, large amounts of hydrocarbon resources …

Computational Modeling of Fluid Flow through A Fractured Media under Overburden Pressures
Abstract: Computational analyses were conducted to investigate fluid flow characteristics of a real fractured media. Finite element (FE) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analyses were implemented to carry out these computational analyses. The fractured media was exposed to external pressurization to predict permeability and asperity deformation. Furthermore, a series of CFD-FE analyses were also conducted to determine the reduction in permeability of the fractured media under the external pressure. An elastic-plastic …

A Critical Review of Hydraulic Fracture Propagation in Shale Gas Reservoirs
Abstract: The successful exploration and development of unconventional shale gas reservoirs was possible with advances in hydraulic fracturing and horizontal drilling. Hydraulic fracture treatments open these natural fractures and create a fracture network in gas shales. However, the fracture propagation is not fully understood as of now. A critical review of hydraulic fracture propagation in shale gas formations is presented in this paper. Effects of pertinent factors on hydraulic fracture propagation …

Determination of Residual Oil Saturation and Connectivity between Injector and Producer using Interwell Tracer Tests
Abstract: In this paper, based on simulation, a reservoir is first waterflooded and then the interwell tracer tests are used to determine the residual oil saturation (Sor) and connectivity in the region between the injector and producer pairs. In the end, the field wide average oil saturation from the simulation is compared with those from the interwell tracer test analysis. The simulation results shows that average Sor in the region between …

Thermodynamic modelling of the effects of high temperatures on brine fluid density
Abstract: Current trends in oil discoveries points to deep water zones characterized by temperatures ranging from 150oC to 350oC which needs good prediction of the fracture pressure and pore pressure hence imperative to continually understand temperature-density relationships of the fluids which are pumped downhole for well control. This paper seeks to propose a new, cost effective and easier method of estimating the reduction in density of brine completion fluid as it …

Solutions to Problems Faced in Well Log Analysis in fractured metamorphic Reservoir Systems Due To Multiple Porosities and Lithology’s
Abstract: Metamorphic rocks are the most bottomless non-terrigenous sedimentary rock and are made essentially out of transformative minerals. Most metamorphic rocks shape from calcareous stores that collect in marine conditions running from salt marshes to reefs to profound sea bowls. Unmistakable and one of a kind parts of transformative rocks are their dominatingly intrabasinal starting point, their essential reliance on natural exercises for their constituents and their powerlessness to change by …

Overcome reservoir heterogeneity challenges by utilizing rock typing techniques
Abstract: Once a field has been identified, and a general method of reservoir exploitation decided, there are several methods to achieve the reservoir management goal. Still, some ways may cost twice as much as others. The most critical operations to developing a field are drilling of wells, and it overemphasizes which in the early stages of field development. Identifying well position and reservoir properties arrange as the most critical step for …

Corrosion Behavior of Steel in Reinforced Concrete
Abstract: There are many environments where steel is exposed to different types of cement as well as different water cement ration along with variable PH of water mixed during the preparation of concrete. Deterioration of steel in such environment causes corrosion and its rate depend upon the type of cement and type of environment because it not only corrode steel but also affect the concreting material as it contains various chemical …

ALADIN and its Protein Interactions with the Nucleoproteins: An Insilico Analysis
Abstract: The nuclear pore complex (NPCs) are big, protein complexes made up of multiple units that traverse the nuclear envelope (NE), establishing a discerning channel between the cytoplasm and nucleus for the nucleocytoplasmic transport. It has different roles in cellular processes, like cell-cycle progression, control of gene expression, and signal transduction. NPC is a vast and complex structure, compiled from almost 30 proteins, termed nucleoporins. Earlier studies have shown that each …

Abstract: Anthrax toxin is a three-protein exotoxin that is secreted by the bacterium's virulent strains, the anthrax causative agent Bacillus anthracis. Harry Smith first found the toxin in 1954. Anthrax toxin consists of a protein called a protective antigen (PA) binding cell protein and two enzyme parts called an edema factor (EF) and a deadly factor (LF). These three protein components act together to impart their physiological effects. Assembled complexes containing …
