Synthesis of Carbon Nanotubes using Laboratory Electric Bunsen Burner
Abstract: The synthesis of carbon nanotubes was carried out by CVD using electric Bunsen burner as the electrical source, at low temperature over cobalt nitrate supported on MgO using ethanol as the carbon source. The morphology, quality and degree of graphitization were analyzed by SEM, TEM and Raman spectroscopy. The TGA analysis with mild acid treatment revealed the burn off temperature of carbon nanotube to be at 392 to 695oC. The …

Green Synthesis of Nanoparticles using Nivdi Leaf Extract
Abstract: Nanotechnology deals with materials 1 to 100 nm in length. The fundamentals of nanotechnology lie in the fact that the properties of materials drastically change when their dimensions are reduced to nano scale. The green synthesis of nanoparticles with the help of this plant extract was done for the first time. The leaves of the plant Nivdi was used for extraction of nano-ZnO, nano-Ag+ and characterization of the nanoparticles was …

Synthesis and Application of Zeolite A from Kaolin Obtained from Dei Dei, Bwari Area Council, Abuja
Abstract: In this study, the synthesis of Zeolites from Kaolin obtained from Dei Dei, Bwari Area Council, Abuja was successfully carried out using standard methods (novel process of dealumination). Meta kaolinization was achieved by thermal activation of kaolin at the temperature range of between 600–900°C for 2 hours in a furnace and followed by dealumination with NaOH in an oven at 120°C for 6 hrs in order to achieve a desire …

Canine Pseudopregnancy: A Review
Abstract: Canine pseudopregnancy is a normal physiological syndrome that occurs in female dogs in their diestrual phase of estrous cycle. It simulates the peri and post-whelping signs that includes nesting, increase in weight and enlargement of mammary gland, lactation and mothering behavior on toys, shoes, puppies of other bitches. Decreased levels of progesterone, meanwhile raised levels of prolactin predispose the bitches to pseudopregnancy. It is a self-limiting clinical condition; however, anti-prolactin …

FT-IR Analysis of Single Walled Carbon Nanotubes based PA12/PMMA Nanocomposites
Abstract: Development of new polymer composites for different applications is gaining interest. In this context, the author has synthesized novel blends and its nanocomposites consisting of Polyamide12 (PA12), Poly methyl methacrylate (PMMA), functionalized and non-functionalized carbon nanotubes by using melt extrusion, followed by injection molding technique. To understand molecular interaction among the blend components, these composites, namely PA12/PMMA blend and PA12/PMMA/SWCNT, SWCNT-OH, SWCNT-COOH nanocomposites are characterized by infrared spectroscopic (IR) methods. …
