Comparative Analysis of Sustainable Materials in Road Construction: A Review
Abstract: The immediate need for sustainable infrastructure has driven research into new materials in road construction with the goal of reducing environmental degradation and enhancing resource efficiency. This review is a comparative analysis of four innovative technologies involving industrial and natural waste products: recycled aggregates from construction and demolition (C&D) waste, feldspar powder from lithium mining, stabilized dam sediments using eucalyptus ash, and calcium carbide residue (CCR) blended with dredged sludge. …

In-Situ Polymerized GO/PANI Composites: Structural Evolution, Optical Modulation, and NH₃ Sensing at Room Temperature
Abstract: Graphene oxide (GO)/polyaniline (PANI) composites with varying PANI contents (20, 40, and 60 wt%) were synthesized via in-situ oxidative polymerization and systematically investigated for their structural, morphological, optical, and gas-sensing properties. X-ray diffraction (XRD) confirmed a progressive increase in interlayer spacing and partial exfoliation of GO layers with increasing PANI content, indicating intercalation-assisted hybridization. Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy revealed the characteristic vibrational bands of both constituents and confirmed strong …

Layered Metal–Polymer Hybrid Laminates with Embedded Impact Sensors for Connected Automotive Panels
Abstract: The increasing demand for lightweight, intelligent, and structurally reliable automotive components has accelerated the development of multifunctional hybrid materials capable of simultaneously providing superior mechanical performance and real-time structural health monitoring. In this study, a novel layered metal–polymer hybrid laminate incorporating an embedded flexible impact sensor was developed for connected automotive panel applications. The laminate was fabricated using AA6061-T6 aluminum alloy face sheets and a thermoplastic polyurethane interlayer through hot-press …

Machine-Learning-Assisted Development of Polymer-Biochar Composite Adsorbents for the Removal of Heavy Metals from Gomti River Water
Abstract: Rapid urbanization, industrial discharge, and agricultural runoff pose a significant threat to freshwater sustainability and public health. Within these ecosystems, polymer pollutants—such as microplastics, nanoplastics, synthetic fibres, and additive residues—have emerged as persistent vectors capable of adsorbing and transporting toxic heavy metals. Because these polymeric contaminants dynamically interact with conventional aquatic parameters to alter pollutant mobility and ecological risk profiles, there is an urgent need to transition from passive environmental …
