Temperature-Dependent Viscoelastic Response of Magnetorheological Grease with Varying Particle Shapes
Abstract: This study examines the effect of temperatures on the magnetic and rheological properties of magnetorheological greases (MRGs) comprised of different particle shapes, under oscillatory shear mode test. Two samples were prepared with 70 wt.% flake-shaped electrolytic iron particles (EIP) and spherical carbonyl iron particles (CIP) which dispersed in 30 wt.% lithium-based grease, separately. Respective to magnetic properties test, the vibrating sample magnetometry (VSM) revealed that MRG-EIP exhibited 11.4% higher magnetic …

Winding Modification and Analysis of LVDT
Abstract: The LVDT (Linear Variable Differential Transformer) typically uses step-winding mode because it has an advantage such as simple construction and fewer layers of winding. The LVDT converts a location or linear movement from a reference standard (zero or null point) impulse with direction and distance information into a proportionate electrical field using the phase and amplitude components. To produce the output in full stroke, the core’s length must be more …

Particle Swarm Optimization Framework for Accurate Battery State-of-Charge and Remaining Useful Life Estimation
Abstract: Accurate estimation of the State of Charge (SOC) and State of Health (SOH) of a battery is key to safe and efficient management of batteries in electric vehicles and energy-storage systems. However, it is challenging due to high nonlinearity, varying operating conditions, measurement noise, and limited access to comprehensive electrochemical parameters. Traditional data-driven models often generalize poorly and require heavy tuning, which can produce unstable predictions. To address these problems, …

Enhancement in Biomedical Polymer Nanocomposites: Biocompatibility and Mechanical Property Predictions using Machine Learning
Abstract: A machine learning (ML)-based framework is developed and validated through experimental analysis and comparative modeling to enhance system dependability and improve prediction performance. The proposed framework includes key stages such as data preprocessing, feature evaluation, model training, and performance benchmarking to determine the most effective prediction technique. Several machine learning models were evaluated, including Ensemble models, Artificial Neural Networks (ANN), Decision Tree (DT), Random Forest (RF), Support Vector Machine (SVM), …

Comparative Analysis of Supervised Learning Algorithms
Abstract: Supervised learning is a fundamental and widely used branch of machine learning in which models are trained on labeled datasets, meaning that each input is associated with a known output. Supervised learning algorithms develop predictive capability by understanding the mapping between input variables and corresponding output labels, enabling them to accurately forecast outcomes for previously unseen data. Due to this capability, supervised learning has found extensive applications across diverse domains …

Next-Gen Techniques for Bottleneck Detection in High-Performance Computing
Abstract: Modern computing systems face new challenges in bottleneck detection and mitigation due to their increasing complexity which stems from multi-core architectures alongside distributed platforms and real-time processing needs. Traditional methods like hardware profiling and static analysis which used to work well now struggle to keep up with the changing conditions of dynamic system behaviors and diverse computing environments along with variable workload patterns. The current limitations restrict their capability to …
