A Study of Hyperfine Interactions of Peroxy Radicals in Irradiated PE Copolymer at Low Temperatures
Abstract: Hyperfine interactions occurring around the magnetic environment of peroxy radical are investigated by electron spin resonance (ESR) technique. For this purpose, ESR spectra are recorded in the temperature range of 77 to 300 K. ESR spectra at 77 K possess some hyperfine structure together with peroxy doublet; while at high temperatures only peroxy doublet is observed. Hyperfine parameters like g-values, peak to peak separation, spread are calculated and their temperature …

Development and Simulation of Non-Linear Gear Dynamics Model
Abstract: With the development of high-speed mechanical transmission, the dynamic characteristics of gear transmission require continuous improvement and more accurate prediction of the gear system dynamics becomes more and more important. The literature revealed that the gear pair transmission system is inherently non-linear which exhibits complex behavior and it is significant to study its vibration characteristics in detail and to analyze the influencing factors. A nonlinear dynamic model of gear transmission …

Micropropagation Protocol for Mass Multiplication of Stevia rebaudiana (Bert.) Bertoni: A Natural Sweetener
Abstract: AbstractStevia rebaudiana (Bert.) Bertoni is a small perennial herb of the family Asteraceae. It’s sweetening power ranges from 100–300 times more than sucrose. The sweet compounds found in Stevia leaves are diterpene glycosides (steviol glycosides), eight diterpene glycosides with sweetening properties have been identified in leaf tissue of stevia. It is reported to be hypoglycemic, hypotensive and effective in curing skin disorders, tooth decay etc. The market opportunity appears great …

Pressure Swing Adsorption Technique for Separation and Containment of Argon-41
Abstract: Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Air is used as a coolant in several nuclear facilities especially in the Pressurized Heavy Water Reactors (PHWRs). When air interacts with the neutron field, the Argon-40 present (0.93%) in the air gets neutron-activated to form Argon-41which is a beta and gamma emitter, with a half-life period of 1.83 h. Argon-41 is a major radioactive effluent in nuclear reactors accounting for a larger percentage …

Compost of Rice Husk the Soil Additive
Abstract: Rice husk (RH) is the waste from rice mill. RH has maximal use as fertilizer additive. Chemical feed from RH digested sap at soil increases chlorophyll content and reduces infections of vegetable plants. Balanced rejection of soil nutrients at requisite water containment subjected after optimal proportion of husk compost, cattle dung and inorganic manures. Water and compound rejection rates at different stages of plant growth produces proper growth of plant …

New Distribution Record of Five Species of Xylaria from Tripura, Northeast India
Abstract: The present study deals with new distribution record of five Xylaria species from Tripura, North-east India. Out of total five species, X. obovata, X. nigripes, X. multiplex and X. hypoxylon were not reported from entire Northeast India. Present findings revealed a potential check list of Xylaria of the region. It was observed that Xylaria species prefer to grow on dead decaying wooden logs situated on the moist deciduous forest floor. …

Development and Effectiveness of Lipid–Polysaccharide Conglomerated Composite Edible Coating to Enhance Postharvest Life of Whole Muskmelon (Cucumis melo L.) var. Ravi
Abstract: Lipids can be combined with polysaccharides to create conglomerated composite edible coatings in which the components are interspersed throughout the coating. An experimental lipid–polysaccharide conglomerated composite (LPCC) edible coating was developed from lipids (vegetable oils and resins) and polysaccharides (gum Arabic, CMC). Whole muskmelons (var. Ravi) were coated with LPCC edible coating by spraying method and stored at 12±2 ºC with 90–95% relative humidity. The effectiveness of LPCC edible coating …

Statistical Analysis of Geomagnetic Activity and Solar Activity Features during Solar Cycle 23 & 24
Abstract: We present a statistical analysis of the geomagnetic storm (GMSs) with the solar activity features (Sunspot number (SN), H-α flare and coronal mass ejection (CME)) during solar cycle 23 and 24. Sunspot number (SN) shows good correlation with peak values of GMSs indices (correlations coefficient R= 0.76) while CME(R=0.59) and H-α (R=0.55) show moderate correlation. So we conclude that GMSs have good correlation with solar activity features during major geomagnetic …

A Study on Radiation Effects in Acrylonitrile-AMPS Copolymer
Abstract: Radiation behavior of Acrylonitrile AMPS copolymer has been investigated by Electron Spin Resonance (ESR), Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) techniques. Temperature dependent ESR studies indicate that free radicals responsible for irradiated copolymer decay at around 100°C. Presence of macro-radicals and polyene radicals is detected. FTIR spectra of copolymer of unirradiated and irradiated are compared and chemical groups influenced by gamma irradiation are identified. The studies suggest that chain cleavage occur either …

Role of Organic Farming in Emergence of Sustainable Development in India
Abstract: Viewed as a periphery development of questionable dishonor, organic farming began from rather pitiful roots; but then has figured out how-to pick-up regard and spread worldwide with deals in the request of about US$40 billion every year. Today one of the discussions in such manner is whether organic farming is only a materialistic trifle, or is it truly better for us? Disappointments of green revolution, fall in biodiversity and harvest …

Investigation of the Pulse Shape and Amplitude of 4He Gas Scintillations Produced by a 5.5 MeV Alpha Particle Source
Abstract: AbstractScintillation light is normally produced when ionizing particles such as alpha particles deposit their energy as they travel through a scintillating material, which can be solid, liquid or gaseous (e.g. 4He). In this project we compared scintillations produced in 4He gas by alpha particles (from the decay of 241Am) to those produced in plastic scintillator by cosmic-ray muons. The properties of photomultiplier and Si photomultipliers as sensors of scintillation light …
