Comparative Analysis of P, PI, and PID Controllers Based on Time Domain Specifications
Abstract: In this research, proportional (P), proportional-integral (PI), and proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controllers utilized in control systems are thoroughly compared. The study attentions on assessing system presentation with time-domain specifications such as rise time, settling time, overshoot, and steady-state error. Mathematical modeling and controller design are discussed, shadowed by analytical comparison. The results establish that while P and PI controllers offer simplicity, PID controllers provide superior performance in terms of stability and …

Power Control of Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) Based on IP Controller
Abstract: Conventionally, the indirect power control of Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) has been developed based on conventional Proportional-Plus-Integral (PI) controller due to its simple construction and implementation. The steady-state error minimization, overshoot elimination and disturbance rejection are not possible where the gains of PI controller are chosen by trial and error method. The steady-state error and disturbance rejection can be possible if the gains of PI controller are chosen by …

Thermo-hydraulic Performance of Multi-Pass Double-Pipe Heat Exchangers: Integrating Polymer Composite Tube Wall Materials via CFD Parametric Study and Experimental Validation
Abstract: Metallic materials such as steel and copper have traditionally dominated heat exchanger manufacturing because of their excellent thermal conductivity, mechanical strength, and long-established industrial reliability. However, their high weight, susceptibility to corrosion in aggressive operating environments, and inability to provide tunable thermal properties have motivated interest in alternative materials for next-generation thermal systems. Thermally conductive polymer composites reinforced with graphene nanoplatelets (GNP), boron nitride (BN), and carbon-based fillers offer an …

AI-Driven Intelligent Energy Management System for Enhancing Electric Vehicle Efficiency and Range
Abstract: Electric Vehicles (EVs) are crucial in mitigating the emission of greenhouse gases and facilitating sustainable transportation. Their performance is however limited by the capacity of the battery, unpredictable weather conditions and ineffective use of energy. The paper suggests an AI-based Intelligent Energy Management System (IEMS) to increase EV efficiency and driving range. The suggested system combines machine learning (ML), model predictive control (MPC), and real-time data analytics to optimize power …

Analysis of The Performance of A PV/PCM System in Variable Solar Radiation Conditions
Abstract: This paper studies the performance of a PV/PCM system operating at variable solar radiation conditions. The system has been tested for six different solar radiation levels, from 250 W/m2 to 950 W/m2 determining the steady-state temperature for every case. An algorithm has been developed to predict the steady-state temperature. This prediction has produced values within 97% accuracy of experimental data. A reduction of temperature up to 18.9ºC has been achieved. …

Speed Control of A Doubly Fed Induction Motor using Integral Plus Proportional Controller
Abstract: Conventionally, the speed control manipulate of Doubly-Fed Induction Motor (DFIM) has been developed primarily which is based on traditional Proportional-Plus-Integral (PI) controller due to its simple construction and implementation. The steady-state error minimization, overshoot removal and disturbance rejection are not possible in which the benefits of PI controller are chosen through trial and errors approach. The steady-state error and disturbance rejection may be viable, if the benefits of Proportional-Plus-Integral controller …

Control of a Three Phase Grid-Connected Photovoltaic System with Maximum Power Point Tracking
Abstract: The power output of a photovoltaic system is greatly dependent on environmental conditions such as solar irradiation and ambient temperature. Due to the nonlinear nature of these conditions, the power output of the PV system is nonlinear. As a result, interfacing its output to the electrical grid is not possible. In order to achieve a grid connected photovoltaic (PV) system, controlled maximum power point tracking techniques are needed to obtain …
