Performance Analysis of DNA Sequencing Using Smith-Waterman Algorithm on FPGA
Abstract: The Smith-Waterman algorithm is the most accurate and optimal alignment algorithm for DNA sequencing. It is utilized to locate the ideal local alignment between two sequences. While looking sequence databases that may contain billions of sequences, this algorithm turns out to be computationally costly and tedious. Smith-Waterman algorithm needs additional memory space and this constrains the extent of a sequence to be aligned. In this study we will implement the …

Triangular Waveform Generation using Mixed Signal Modeling
Abstract: The development of modeling languages such as Verilog-HDL and Verilog-AMS allows the behavior of analogue and mixed signal circuits to be described with a more lucid way as compared to the conventional circuit-level simulators. Mixed-signal simulators are thus providing a new platform for more efficient modeling of mixed signal that contains both the analogue and discrete features which was not previously possible. The non-linear characteristics of many circuits are still …

Hardware Implementation of Configurable Multi Image Fusion
Abstract: Multifocus images make it difficult to describe a scene accurately. Hence, the fusion of two or more images forms a good solution in order to obtain a new image containing more appropriate description of the scene than any of the input images. This paper presents a method of image fusion which uses stationary wavelet transform and fuzzy logic. By overcoming the disadvantages of discrete wavelet transform such as downsampling and …

Adsorption Study using Water Hyacinth as an Adsorbent
Abstract: Heavy metals are widely used in numerous industries such as paints and pigments, glass production, mining operation, electroplating, battery manufacturing and textile industries. The significant losses of heavy metals occur during the manufacturing processes and these lost heavy metals are discharged in the effluent. As they move from one ecological trophic level to another, metallic species start damaging the ecosystem. They also become difficult to track as they move up …

Rainfall-runoff Relationship in Small Mountainous Catchments
Abstract: An event of stream danger was seen in a little watershed, where precipitation prompted a critical decrease in soil dampness content. This development of soil water can be perceived as sporadic motions as it streams into lower layers. This peculiarity includes a significant measure of water going through the dirt, contributing fundamentally to the general outpouring from the watershed. The precariousnessdriven stream hypothesis can depict this peculiarity, which emerges because …
