Strength and Durability Characteristics of Fiber Modified Asphaltic Bitumen
Abstract: Flexible pavements with bituminous surfacing are widely used in India. Exponential increase in traffic, overloading of commercial vehicles and significant variations in daily and seasonal temperatures have shown some limitations of conventional bitumen performance. Earlydevelopments of distress symptoms like cracking, rutting, raveling, undulations, shoving and potholing of bituminous surfacing have been reported for flexible pavements. Toenhance the properties of road, bitumen is modified by the addition of some waste materials. …

Comparative studies of Oxidation and hot corrosion behaviors of uncoated and detonation gun sprayed Cr3C2-25NiCr coating on SA-213 boiler steel at 8000C
Abstract: Fe-based alloys suffer oxidation and hot corrosion when the surfaces were in contact with air (oxidation) as well as the salty atmosphere (Hot corrosion) at elevated temperatures. In these atmospheric conditions, non-protective oxide Fe2O3 was formed on the surface of alloys. Oxidation and hot corrosion have been recognized as a major problem in the applications of the diesel engine, boilers, gas turbines, and chemical power plant etc. Detonation-gun sprayed Cr3C2-25NiCr …

Metal corrosion prevention control with uses of sol-gel coatings
Abstract: The potential for sol-gel generated films to replace methods for pre-treating metal surfaces with chromate is very high. Metallic and organic paint can be painted on with good adherence thanks to inorganic sol-gel generated coatings. Their significant crack-forming propensity prevents them from offering appropriate corrosion protection. A thicker, more flexible, functionalized film is produced with improved compatibility to various organic top coatings when an organic component is added to an …

Complex-hole Polishing Combining Abrasive Gels and Abrasive Flow Machining
Abstract: Abrasive flow machining (AFM) makes it simple to polish the intricate holes and the curved surfaces of difficult-to-machine geometries because abrasive media may bend flexibly in this process. Although abrasive media predominate in the polishing behavior of the AFM process, the mechanism of the abrasive media is difficult to grasp due to the highly viscous gels; as a result, many finishing tasks require a lot of time to design the …

Bund Breakage Predictor and Automatic Field Irrigation System
Abstract: Bunds are one among the most common techniques used in agriculture to collect surface run off, increase water infiltration and prevent soil erosion. Their principle is comparably simple by building bunds along the contour lines, water runoff is slowed down which leads to increased water infiltration and enhanced soil moisture. Water is an important resource for agriculture. Bund breakage predictor and automatic field irrigation system is used to calculate the …

High Gain Antenna Array (2x1 and 4x1) Design for WLAN Application
Abstract: Micro-strip antennas became very popular in 1970s primarily for space borne applications. Today they are used for government and commercial applications. These antennas consist of a metallic patch on a grounded substrate. The metallic patch can take many different configurations. However, the rectangular and circular patches are most popular because of ease of analysis and fabrication, and their attractive radiation characteristics, especially low cross-polarization radiation. In high performance aircraft, spacecraft, …
