Screening of Cold-Active Lipase from Psychotropic Fungi
Abstract: Lipase is a class of enzymes that catalyze as, hydrolysis of long-chain tri-glycoside and comprise the large significant group of bio-catalysts for biotechnological applications. Currently, the cold-active lipases (CLPS) are the enzyme of choice for pharmacists, organic chemists, biochemical, biophysicists and engineering processes, bio-technologists and micro-biologists as well as biochemists. The production of CLPs is mostly existed from psychrophilic microorganisms. Psychrophiles and psychrotrophs extracellular colds-active enzymes at low temperature (cold) …

Phytochemical Screening, Proximate Analysis and Acute Toxicity Study of Ethanolic Extract of Launaea taraxacifolia on Visceral Organs of Albino Rats
Abstract: Despite increase in the acceptance of herbs for the treatment of certain diseases, there are limited information on the effectiveness, safety and toxicity of herbs. In this study, proximate analysis, phytochemical screening and acute toxicity studies on the herbal recipe, Launaea taraxacifolia were carried out. Constituents of Launaea taraxacifolia were extracted using ethanol. Phytochemical screening and proximate analysis were carried out on the extract. Fifteen (15) albino rats, divided into …

Cytotoxic, Anthalmintic and Analgesic Activities of the Methanol Extract of Ricinus communis (Family: Euphorbiaceae)
Abstract: The aim of this study was to evaluate the phytochemical screening, cytotoxicity, anthelmintic activity and analgesic properties of the methanol extract (leaves) of Ricinus communis (Family: Euphorbiaceae). The methanol extract of the leaves showed mild cytotoxic activity with the LC50 value 6.456 µg/mL compared to vincristine sulfate (LC50 0.812 µg/mL) using brine shrimp lethality bioassay. The anthelmintic activity was performed by observing the time of paralysis and the time of …

Harnessing the Bioactive Potential of Calotropis gigantea and Calotropis procera
Abstract: The medicinal plants of the Apocynaceae family Calotropis gigantea and Calotropis procera have gained more and more interest as source of bioactive molecules for biomedical applications like cancer therapy. They have various pharmacological activities, which are believed to be linked to various phytochemical constituents such as cardenolides, cardiac glycosides, flavonoids, triterpenoids, steroids, phenolic compounds, alkaloids, and proteins in their latex. The recent molecular and cellular studies show that extracts and …
