Multifunctional Lignin-Modified Jute/Bio-Epoxy Composites with MWCNT-Based Piezoresistive Self-Sensing for Sustainable Housing Applications
Abstract: This study develops a multifunctional natural-fibre-reinforced polymer composite based on alkali-treated jute fabric, bio-based epoxy, kraft lignin and a small amount of multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs), with particular emphasis on polymer-matrix modification, fibre–matrix interfacial behaviour and intrinsic damage sensing. Kraft lignin was incorporated at 0, 2, 4 and 6 wt.% to examine its influence on polymer-chain mobility, interfacial morphology, thermal stability and mechanical response, while 0.5 wt.% MWCNTs was introduced …

Effect of tool Rotation Speed on Aluminium alloy (2024) to Copper Welded Joint Produced by Friction Stir Welding
Abstract: AbstractFriction stir welding has a very high importance in the field of thermomechanical processing. One of the main reasons of this vast application of friction stir welding is that the weld obtained by this process is light in weight. The materials which are used to weld by this process are mainly aluminium alloys which are easily available in the market. Since copper has been the material used for decades in …

Enhancement of Mechanical and Tribological Properties of Aluminum-Titanium Carbide (Al-TiC) Metal Matrix Composites via Powder Metallurgy
Abstract: Metal matrix composites (MMCs) have emerged as a result of the increasing need for sophisticated lightweight materials with exceptional mechanical and tribological qualities. For structural and wear-critical applications, aluminum-based composites supplemented with ceramic particles such as titanium carbide (TiC) have shown great promise. In this work, aluminum-TiC composites made by powder metallurgy a process that guarantees even particle dispersion, regulated porosity, and the creation of near-net shapes are fabricated, mechanically …

Study the Impact of Corrosive Pollutants on Building Materials Corrosion
Abstract: Reinforced concrete structures (RCS) may be made more resistant to corrosion by using fiber reinforced polymers (FRP). One of the primary concerns with reinforced concrete constructions is corrosion. It causes disintegration in building material components by interactions with salts, acids, and alkalis. Both within and outside of reinforced properties, pollutants and effluents accelerate disbanding. When bio-waste and building materials come into contact, microorganisms and macro organisms, grow and emit acid …

Thermo–Electrical Performance Enhancement of a Lightweight Polymer–Metal Hybrid Electrostatic Precipitator Using Epoxy-Based Composite Housing for Industrial Particulate Control
Abstract: Airborne particulate emissions, particularly PM₁₀ and PM₂.₅ produced by industrial activities and combustion processes, they continue to pose a significant threat to both the environment and public health. Electrostatic precipitators (ESPs) are widely recognized for their ability to achieve high collection efficiencies; however, conventional metallic constructions often lead to increased system weight, higher fabrication costs, and long-term corrosion-related challenges. In this study, a lightweight hybrid material approach is proposed by …

SEASONAL TEMPERATURE IMPACT ON THE DRIVING RANGE OF ELECTRIC VEHICLE: EFFECTS ON CARBON EMISSION SAVING
Abstract: The main goal of the project is to analyse the impact of the seasonal temperature on the performance of the battery of electric vehicles, thus on the driving range. A simulation study has been developed for a Tesla model 3 Mid Range operating in the area of Lyon (France). The simulation has been run for a year based on monthly average temperatures, developing a process to estimate daily temperature evolution. …

Use of Industrial and Agricultural Waste in Soil Stabilization
Abstract: Soil is the foundation material, which supports loads from the overlying structure. Soil is the most widely used material in a highway system, either in its natural form or in a processed form. Also, all pavement structures eventually rest on soil foundation. The construction cost can be considerably decreased by selecting local materials including local soils for the construction of the lower layers of the pavement such as the sub-base …
