The Future of Camelids in South America: Recent Developments and Prospects
Abstract: Camelids, including llamas, alpacas, vicuñas, and guanacos, have been central to South American culture, economy, and ecosystems for centuries. Known for their adaptability to harsh Andean climates, these species provide valuable resources, such as luxurious fiber, nutritious meat, and durable leather. In modern times, their importance has grown due to increasing demand for sustainable and ethically sourced products, coupled with their minimal environmental impact and significant contributions to rural livelihoods. …

Adoption Barriers to Advanced Reproductive Technologies in the Subsistence Dairy Farming Systems: Key Constraints and the Way Forward
Abstract: The adoption of advanced reproductive technologies (ARTs) in subsistence dairy farming remains limited despite their potential to enhance genetic improvement, fertility rates, and overall productivity. This study explores the key constraints hindering the integration of ARTs, including artificial insemination, embryo transfer, and ovulation synchronization, within small-scale dairy production systems. Financial constraints, lack of awareness, inadequate veterinary support, and socio-cultural resistance are identified as primary barriers. Limited access to affordable credit, …

Thermal Dissipation Performance of Metal–Polymer Composite Heat Exchanger for Enhanced Thermal Management in Compact Electric Geysers
Abstract: Most electric geysers these days are made from all-metal stuff, like stainless steel tanks and copper coils for heating, plus mild steel on the outside. Standby heat losses can be 20 to 40 watts, and a 15-litre unit weighs around 6 to 8 kilograms. Manufacturing costs are higher, too. Hard water makes it worse, with limescale building up on the heating elements and cutting thermal conductivity by 10 to 30 …

Mechanical Characterization of Prosopis Juliflora Fibre-Reinforced Epoxy Composites for Sustainable Automotive Applications
Abstract: This study investigates the potential of Prosopis juliflora (PJ) fibre as an eco-friendly, economical, and mechanically efficient reinforcement for epoxy-based polymer composites. Composite samples were produced using the compression moulding technique with epoxy-to-fibre weight ratios of 90:10, 85:15, and 80:20. Mechanical tests, including tensile, flexural, impact, and hardness evaluations, were conducted in accordance with relevant ASTM standards. The incorporation of PJ fibre resulted in significant improvements in the mechanical behaviour …

Innovative Approaches to Reactive Power Management and Optimization in Modern Power systems
Abstract: Reactive power management and optimization are necessary for the effective, stable, and reliable working of modern power systems. Without proper management, reactive power is responsible for additional losses in transmission, reduced capability of power transfer, and poor voltage stability conditions, thus forming a basis for developing advanced techniques of optimization. This paper discusses the innovative methods in Reactive Power Optimization (RPO) using met heuristic algorithms, namely the Self-Balanced Differential Evolution …
