Interfacial Bonding and Performance of Polymer-Based CFRP Composites in Externally Applied Configurations
Abstract: Polymer-based carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) composites are widely used for externally bonded strengthening and retrofitting applications due to their high strength-to-weight ratio and adaptability to existing structures. In such systems, overall performance is governed not only by the fiber–matrix interaction within the laminate, but more critically by the polymer adhesive layer and its interaction with the substrate. Polymer chemistry, interfacial bonding mechanisms, processing conditions, and environmental exposure collectively influence …

Numerical Investigation on Medium Velocity Impact Response of Hybrid Metal Matrix Composite Laminate
Abstract: The current investigation centers on examining the numerical analysis of a hybrid metal matrix composite laminate resulting from impacts inflicted by diverse projectiles on the composite structure. Composite materials are chosen based on their inherent properties and compatibility in terms of bonding with other materials, forming the layers for the hybrid metal matrix composite. The fiber taken for the research paper was Kevlar and Sisal because they both bear good …

Characterization of Bamboo-Fiber Reinforced Geopolymer Composites
Abstract: In this project, we plan to produce and assess a new, eco-friendly composite made from geopolymer (from a combination of fly ash and GGBFS), strengthened with chemically treated bamboo fibres for retrofitting earthquake-resistant buildings. Geopolymer is produced by activating a mixture of fly ash and GGBFS with sodium silicate and sodium hydroxide solutions. We have produced and analyzed bamboo fibre-reinforced geopolymer composites as potential materials for seismic retrofitting of structures …
