Mechanical Characterization of Green Composite Brake Pads Reinforced with Coconut Shell Waste
Abstract: In the present work, coconut shell powder proposed as a replacement material for the eco-friendly brake linings. The composites for brake pad were developed with other sizes of the coconut shell particles, namely (200 µm, 300 µm, 400 µm and 500 µm) The developed samples were evaluated for morphological, mechanical, physical and worability properties. The SEM micrograph proved that the coconut shell particulates are well dispersed in the composite everywhere …

An Experimental Study on Multi-Criteria Parameters Optimization of Process for Al6351/SiC/Gr Metal Matrix Composites Using AHP-TOPSIS Approach
Abstract: This research focuses on optimizing the process parameters of Wire Electrical Discharge Machining (WEDM) for a hybrid Metal Matrix Composite (MMC) comprising Al6351 aluminum alloy reinforced with 4% SiC and 6% graphite (Gr), fabricated via squeeze casting. This technique enables the formation of dense, defect-free composites with uniform reinforcement distribution, enhancing both mechanical properties and structural integrity. Microstructural characterization using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) confirmed the even dispersion and bonding …

Wear Performance of Cylindrical Shaped Alumina Nanoparticles Filled Epoxy Composite
Abstract: Low cost high specific strength epoxy LY 556 and alumina nano filler is utilized in current research for developing a epoxy composite. A liquid dispersion method was adopted for fabricating epoxy alumina composite having 0.50 wt% of alumina reinforcement. For uniform and homogenous dispersion of reinforcement, ultra-sonification of 120 W is adopted. To study the effect of particle behavior, unfilled epoxy and 0.5 wt.% cylindrical alumina oxide filled epoxy composite …
