Hybrid Machining Processes in Advanced Manufacturing: A Review of Mechanisms and Industrial Applications
Abstract: Hybrid machining processes (HMPs) have gained considerable attention in recent years as an effective approach to address the growing complexity and performance demands of modern manufacturing systems. These processes combine two or more machining techniques—such as mechanical, thermal, chemical, or electrical methods—into a single setup, enabling enhanced productivity, precision, and adaptability, particularly for hard-to-machine materials like ceramics, composites, and superalloys. The integration of distinct energy sources results in synergistic effects …

Effect of the Background Harmonics and the Network’s Impedance Characteristics on the Operation of Shunt Capacitors
Abstract: This paper deals with the possible adverse harmonic conditions associated with the connection of shunt compensating capacitors to certain network buses. It takes into account both the daily profile of the voltage background harmonics and the frequency dependence of the network's input impedance at these buses. These two factors will be incorporated in four established standards and recommendations used for assessing the severity of the harmonic pollution in the network. …

Strengthening Low Voltage Ride-Through in Wind Energy Systems: A Comparative Study of DVR and STATCOM
Abstract: This study looks at the various methods used to improve the low-voltage ride-through (LVRT) capabilities of wind turbine systems (WT) that are based on double-fed induction generators (DFIG). The Type-III WT machine, which is mostly based on DFIG, is instantly connected to the grid without the digital power interface, making the terminal voltage or reactive electricity output unmanageable. This is because the world utilizes between 20% and 25% of renewable …

Reactive Power Optimization using Particle Swarm Optimization with Time Varying-Acceleration Coefficient
Abstract: This paper presents an approach for the solution of reactive power optimization problem. In deregulated power system operations, reactive power optimization helps the system operator to maintain system security with the economy. The application of the time-varying acceleration constant-particle swarm optimization (TVAC-PSO) method for the solution of this problem is emphasized. The real power losses of the system are minimized satisfying power balance, generator reactive power operating limit and voltage …

Adaptive Drift Correction in Polymer-Based Wearable Biosensors via Data-Driven Signal Modeling
Abstract: Polymer-based wearable biosensors have emerged as a promising technology for continuous health monitoring due to their mechanical flexibility, biocompatibility, and suitability for long-term physiological interfacing. However, prolonged exposure to biofluids, environmental variability, and mechanical deformation introduces signal drift, which significantly degrades measurement accuracy and limits clinical reliability. This paper presents a data-driven methodology for compensating signal drift in polymer-based wearable biosensors using adaptive signal processing and machine learning techniques. The …

The Electromagnetic Transients in Compensated High Voltage Power Lines
Abstract: This paper addresses the simulation of the transients developed in high voltage lines, which are initiated by lightning discharges. The analysis allows for compensated and uncompensated lines. Both the individual and simultaneous series inductive and shunt capacitive compensation types can be dealt with. The sizes and locations of the compensating elements are included in the analysis. Numerous studies on the transient concentrated stresses across these elements and the related protection …

Experimental and CFD Investigation of an Epoxy-Based Thermally Conductive Polymer Composite U-Tube Shell-and-Tube Heat Exchanger: A Lightweight Alternative to Conventional Metal Systems
Abstract: Shell-and-tube heat exchangers continue to play a critical role in industrial thermal systems; however, their conventional design based on fully metallic materials often leads to challenges related to weight, corrosion, and cost. In recent years, thermally conductive polymer composites have emerged as promising alternatives, offering improved corrosion resistance and design flexibility. In this study, the thermo-hydraulic performance of a U-tube shell-and-tube heat exchanger is investigated by partially replacing conventional metallic …

Solutions to Problems Faced in Well Log Analysis in fractured metamorphic Reservoir Systems Due To Multiple Porosities and Lithology’s
Abstract: Metamorphic rocks are the most bottomless non-terrigenous sedimentary rock and are made essentially out of transformative minerals. Most metamorphic rocks shape from calcareous stores that collect in marine conditions running from salt marshes to reefs to profound sea bowls. Unmistakable and one of a kind parts of transformative rocks are their dominatingly intrabasinal starting point, their essential reliance on natural exercises for their constituents and their powerlessness to change by …

A STUDY OF INDIAN FEMALE SUBSTANCE ABUSERS IN TREATMENT DEMOGRAPHIC AND PSYCHOMETRIC VARIABLES
Abstract: THE ADDICTIVE PROCESSThe drug epidemic is several decades old in India. It has moved from culturally accepted recreational phenomena towards the newer drug use of Heroin, ocaine and other designer drugs. Routes of administration have shifted from oral intake and inhalation to chasing and injecting drug use. While this, in a way, represents man’s hedonistic nature, it is also a symptom of the inherent dysfunction in society and its social …
