Sodium benzoate induced reproductive and metabolic changes in Anabas testudineus (Bloch, 1792)
Abstract: AbstractSodium benzoate is an effective antimicrobial agent used as a food preservative, but recently gained attention as the chemical toxicant. The present study investigated sodium benzoate induced male reproductive toxicity and metabolic changes at100 mg/ L concentration in the freshwater fish, Anabas testudineus. Sodium benzoate did not alter the weight of fish but increased the secretion of mucous as the primary defensive mechanism. Reduction in the absolute and relative weights …

Hematobiochemical Alteration in Naturally Infected Cattle with Fasciola under Tropical Region
Abstract: Fascioliasis is among one of the emerging and re-emerging disease which has zoonotic importance and spread by feco-oral route. The migrating fluke causes extensive liver damage results in economic burden to the animal farmer. In present investigation 20 cattle were used to evaluate the hemato-biochemical alteration in naturally acquired fasciola infection and without other diseases. Decreased Hemoglobin, Packed cell volume (PCV), Red blood cells (RBC) count whereas; an elevated level …

Haemato-Biochemical Changes in Staphylococcal Species Induced Mastitis in Mouse Model
Abstract: In this study, haemato-biochemical changes in mouse mastitis by inoculating Staphylococcus epidermidis, S. chromogenes, S. haemolyticus and S. Aureus isolated from bovine milk was studied. Blood was collected by intracardiac route at 6, 12, 24, 48, 72 and 96 h. Haematological changes noticed were: white blood cells (WBC) decreased in S. haemolyticus and S. chromogenes at 48 h; S. haemolyticus and S. aureus at 96 h. S. haemolyticus showed increased …

The role of Ethylacetate fractions of Parkinsonia aculeata and Newbouldia laevis against Carbon Tetrachloride Toxicity in Rats
Abstract: This research work studied the preventive effect of ethylacetate fractions of Parkinsonia aculeata and Newbouldia laevis using carbontetrachloride (CCl 4 ) model to induce toxication in rats. Increased (p<0.05) serum concentrations of enzymes and non-enzymes biochemicalparameters such as lactate dehydrogenase, gamma glutamyl transferase, alkaline phosphatase, alanine and aspartate transaminases andtotal bilirubin, were seen in group of rats administered only carbon tetrachloride. However, groups that received 100 to 200mg/kg of thetwo …
