Green Synthesis of Silver Nanoparticles Using The Leaf Extract of Micrococca mercurialis. (L.) Benth. and Its Antibacterial Activity
Abstract: In the present study, fresh and powder leaf extracts of Micrococca mercurialis. (L.) Benth. were used for green synthesis of metallic silver nanoparticles (SNPs). The efficacy of SNPs was tested against some human and animal pathogens. Stable SNPs were formed after adding aqueous solution of 1 mM AgNO3 with the fresh and powder leaf extracts. Quantitative analysis of green synthesized SNP was monitored by UV-visible spectroscopy. Bacteriological tests were performed …

Evaluating Building Density Analysis Using Geographical Information System
Abstract: In Mekelle city, urban sprawl is continuously expanding to the surrounding hinterland at an alarming rate without considering the inner infill area of the city. Moreover, several numbers of developers and land speculator hold large tract of vacant land. This has resulted because land speculators buy large aggregation lands and develop small part of their plot and keep the land until the price rises up. And this creates low density …

A Review on Junk DNA
Abstract: For many years, although being incredibly catchy, the term junk DNA discouraged mainstream scientists from exploring noncoding genetic material. Among humans, the DNA that actually codes for protein synthesis is 2% only. Hence, the noncoding region of genome is then termed Junk DNA. The junk DNA component is drastically different. Hence at the time of investigating the role of satellite DNA for the fertility and survival in pure species, the …

Antifungal Activity of Zero-valent Iron Nanoparticles Synthesized by Green Protocols Using Camellia sinensis Extract against Pathogenic Aspergillus Species
Abstract: Zero-valent iron nanoparticles with potential antifungal activity were synthesized following a green protocol using Camellia sinensis leaves extract. FeSO4.7H2O was reduced to black metallic iron by Camellia sinensis leaves extract. The green synthetic procedure without using any hazardous chemical reagents is hopeful which reduces the possibility of chemical pollution. The synthesized nanoparticles were characterized by UV/visible and fluorescence spectroscopies. The surface morphology, size, shape and particle distribution were studied using …

Tackling Racial Prejudice with Music: A Perspective
Abstract: Despite long efforts in eradicating racial discrimination and the thrive for an egalitarian society, racism still pervades to haunt humanity. With racial discrimination comes prejudice. In fact, it is prejudice that functions as the base for discriminatory psyche and dehumanizing the ‘others’. Prejudice as thought of, could have evolved as a necessary tenet for survival. Human brains are able to differentiate between in group (us) and out group (them) within …

An Extensive In vitro Approach in Development of Next Generation Drugs Against Trehalose-6-Phosphate Phosphatases Involved in Pathogenicity of Many Microorganisms
Abstract: Normal 0 false false false EN-IN X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 AbstractTrehalose-6-phosphate phosphatase (TPP) enzymes implicated in pathogenecity of number of bacteria, fungi and nematodes causing serious diseases such as tuberculosis, candedemias, aspergillosis, elephantiasis and parasitic ones. This study is an effort to target a common pathway critical to pathogenicity of different microbes but entirely absent in vertebrates and to come out with new generation drugs by an extensive in vitro approach. …

Beyond Aesthetics: The Larger Role of Urban Forests in Our Lives: A Review
Abstract: AbstractThe aesthetically pleasing parks, gardens and city forests in an urban ecosystem provide the much needed hint of nature and natural beauty. Standing amidst the ever-expanding concrete structures, urban greenery is often overlooked in the planning and management of cities. The rampant expansions of urban areas especially in the developing countries is not only taking a toll on the quality of the life of the urban population but also has …

Antimicrobial Activities of Silver Doped Nanoparticles
Abstract: Nanobiotechnology, an emerging field of nanoscience, has a wide range of biomedical applications. Nanoparticles (NPs) range between 1–100 nm in size and have a highly specific surface area. These NPs are highly selective and are surrounded by an interfacial layer. In this experiment, we have used five such NPs: ZnO NPs, Ag doped ZnO NPs, ZrO NPs, Ag doped ZrO NPs, and SeO2 with ZnO NPs. The synthesis of nanomaterials …

Galaxies in Absorption: A Study of Galactic Chemical Evolution Models
Abstract: Deciphering how our Cosmos unfolded from the uncharted 'dark ages' to the present condition governed by vast systems has become one of the most interesting searches of the human imagination. Over the last few decades, with the aid of empirical surveys and computational simulations, we have made considerable strides towards a coherent image of galaxy forming and evolution. However, we have yet to achieve a good understanding of numerous important …
