Application of Aqueous Two-Phase Systems in the Extraction of Bovine Serum Albumin
Abstract: Protein partitioning in an aqueous two-phase system (ATPS) has been found to be a powerful method for extracting and separating mixtures of biomolecules. In ATPS, many factors influence the partition coefficient K (which is the ratio of protein concentration in the top phase to that in the bottom phase) and the recovery percent (Rec%). Two systems of ATPS were used: first, polyethylene glycol (PEG4000)/sodium phosphate, and second, PEG4000/dextran. The behavior …

A Novel Approach of Sensorless Control of BLDC Motor with Z-Source Inverter
Abstract: Brushless dc motors are getting more attention in many areas owing to its compactness, maintenance, high efficiency and low cost. Precise detection of rotor position is essential to achieve high efficiency. Back EMF method is one of the most popular control methods for sensorless brushless dc motor. But this method is not suitable for high-speed operation, for the pulse width of zero-vector may be very short. This paper proposes an …

Comparison of Symmetrical and Asymmetrical Cascaded H-Bridge Inverter with Single DC Source
Abstract: This paper presents the comparison of traditional cascaded H-bridge inverter with isolated DC sources (symmetrical arrangement) and the proposed cascaded H-bridge inverter with single DC source (asymmetrical arrangement). Also, fundamental switching strategy is used to generate the control pulses. A conventional cascaded H-bridge (CHB) inverter requires ‘n’ numbers of DC sources for 2n + 1 levels. Without requiring transformers, the scheme proposed here allows the use of a single DC …
