Giant Right Groin Leiomyoma Mimicking Inguinal/Femoral Hernia - Case Report
Abstract: Groin leiomyoma is a rare condition. Such presentation may lead to misinterpretation of inguinal or femoral hernia diagnosis. In case of incorrect diagnosis, there is a high risk for the development of intraoperative complications. Here we report a female patient who presented with a huge soft elastic sessile swelling of 20x25 cm size in the right groin region. The patient clinically had a total history of 9 yrs. Examination revealed …

Port Site Metastasis after Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy - Case Report
Abstract: Laparoscopic cholecystectomy is a gold standard procedure for gall stone disease. Incidence of gall bladder cancer is found in about 0.25-0.3% of patients undergoing cholecystectomy. Patients with a preoperatively undiagnosed adenocarcinoma of the gall bladder in situ have a high incidence of recurrence at the port site. Incidence increases when a gall bladder perforation occurs during its extraction. Incidence is as high about 14%. Here we report a case of …

Effect of Jawarish Zarooni and Sharbat Buzoori in a Diagnosed Case of Nephrotic Syndrome
Abstract: Nephrotic syndrome is a manifestation of kidney disease involving the glomeruli, characterized by oedema, proteinuria, hyperlipidemia and low serum albumin. It may be caused by primary kidney disease such as focal segmental glomerulosclerosis, and mutations in the podocin gene (shown in familial and sporadic forms of steroid-resistant nephrotic syndrome). A study by Michael B. Rothenberg and Walter Heymann M. showed 5-year survey of the incidence of the nephrotic syndrome in …

Biomechanical comparison of Schanz screws placement modes-how can stability by external fixation be raised?
Abstract: AbstractBackground: At present, external fixators are being used widely in open fractures of the long bones and also accepted as a temporary skeletal stabilization even in closed fractures. Therefore, it is essential to increase the stability which is provided by those devices for good outcomes. We hypothesized prior to the study that the greater is the distance between the Schanz screws inserted in each fracture fragment, the higher is the …

Evaluating the Role of Arterial Duplex Ultrasound in Diabetic Foot Ulcer Patients with Normal Ankle Brachial Pressure Index and Peripheral Pulses
Abstract: Background: Requesting a arterial duplex scan has been a recent trend in management of diabetic foot ulcer, as it is considered the gold standard modality of investigation for diagnosing peripheral arterial diseases. Nevertheless, increased burden of the diabetic foot ulcer patients and limited availability of the facilities and trained radiologists prompts us to use this investigation judiciously. Most of the studies focus on role of abnormal ABPI as a predictor …
