Abstract: Gluconic acid is a multifunctional organic acid, non-volatile, non-corrosive, non-toxic, readily biodegradable, with environmentally friendly properties. Rice Husk Energy Content Enhancement by the Torrefaction Process: Characterization and Statistical Studies
Abstract: Torrefaction is the partial pyrolysis of biomass at atmospheric pressure, in an inert environment. The objective of this study is to torrefy the rice husk of Ethiopian origin in order to enhance its energy density. The optimum torrefaction temperature, holding time, and acid concentration were investigated in this study by the three-level-three-factor Box-Behnken Design (BBD) using the Design-Expert 7.0.0 software.
