Cellular Mechanisms of Autophagy in Carcinogenesis: A Narrative Review
Abstract: Autophagy is a highly conserved lysosomal degradation pathway essential for cellular homeostasis, metabolic adaptation, and survival under stress. In the context of carcinogenesis, autophagy exhibits a paradoxical and stage-dependent role. During early tumor development, autophagy acts as a tumor-suppressive mechanism by limiting genomic instability, oxidative stress, and chronic inflammation. Conversely, in established malignancies, cancer cells exploit autophagy to sustain growth, survive hostile tumor microenvironments, and resist anticancer therapies. Increasing evidence …

Development of a Novel Analytical Framework for Investigating Non-Symmetric Deformation Behavior in Strip Rolling
Abstract: In recent years, the asymmetrical rolling process has attracted considerable research attention due to its ability to induce non-uniform deformation characteristics within metallic workpieces. In this context, the present study introduces a novel analytical framework for asymmetrical cold rolling based on an enhanced slab method, specifically designed to overcome the inherent limitations of existing analytical models when applied to a wide range of asymmetric rolling conditions. A newly developed mathematical …

Smart Polymer Composites with Multifunctional Capabilities Integrating Electroactive Polymers Conductive Nanofillers and Flexible Electronics for Advanced Sensing and Actuation Systems
Abstract: Smart polymer composites have gained significant attention to their ability to integrate polymer matrices with conductive nanofillers, offering tunable electrical, mechanical, and electroactive properties. These composites are highly responsive to external stimuli such as electrical fields, mechanical stress, and temperature variations, making them ideal for applications in flexible electronics, soft robotics, and adaptive sensing systems. This research investigates the effect of nanofiller dispersion on the performance of polymer composites, optimizing …

Basalt Fiber, Palm Fiber, and Seashell Powder Reinforced Hybrid Epoxy Composites: A Mechanical Characterization
Abstract: This study investigates epoxy-based composites reinforced with basalt fiber, palm fiber, and seashell powder fabricated via hand lay-up. Mechanical characterization included tensile, flexural, hardness, and impact testing, supported by ANOVA and TOPSIS analyses. The Basalt-Epoxy composite has the highest mechanical strength among the systems under investigation, with a tensile strength of 275 N/mm² and a yield stress of around 215 N/mm². Compared to Palm-Epoxy composite, which has the lowest mechanical …

Effect of Sinusoidal and Inverse sinusoidal Load on the Vibration and Buckling Behaviour of Laminated Composite Symmetrical and Unsymmetrical Trapezoidal Panels
Abstract: Using finite element (FE) techniques, this work analyzes the influence of sinusoidal and invers sinusoidal stresses on the buckling behavior of trapezoidal laminated composite panels (also known as trapezoidal laminated composite panels). The discretization of the composite panel is accomplished by the use of an eight-noded iso-parametric plate element, which has five degrees of freedom for each node. Due to the incorporation of Higher Order Shear Deformation Theory (HOSDT) into …

A Study on Breast-feeding Self-Efficacy and Its Associated Factors Among Mothers
Abstract: Introduction: The process through which a kid is fed human breast milk is known as breastfeeding. Breastfeeding has a significant impact on disease prevention and health promotion. It helps to increase bonding with baby and mother. Oestrogen, progesterone, prolactin, and oxytocin are the four primary hormones that contribute to the production of breastmilk. A modifiable element that can improve breastfeeding success and duration is breastfeeding self-efficacy. Aim: To evaluate mothers' …

Assess the Knowledge Level Regarding Prevention of Cervical Cancer Among Bachelor of Science Students at Selected Nursing College in Bengaluru
Abstract: Background: Cervical cancer is a major global health concern and one of the primary causes of cancer-related fatalities in women, with particularly high incidence rates in India. Early detection and prevention are crucial, but awareness remains insufficient, especially among future healthcare professionals like nursing students. This study evaluates the knowledge of first-year Bachelor of Science (BSc) nursing students regarding cervical cancer prevention. Materials and Methods: A non-experimental, descriptive research design …
