Abstract

The Internet of things (IoT) is a group of physical objects with sensor, processing capability and technologies that can connect and interchange data with other devices and systems over the Internet or other communications networks. A Wireless Sensor Network is a network of sensing nodes that collaboratively sense and monitor any system or object or area. This consists of sensors, actuator, gateways, clients etc. These nodes observe the collected data and transmit them by hopping. These devices can be ordinary household devices, appliances or any other industrial device or machine etc. This field is an example of convergence of multiple technologies. In this paper, some recent important works in the field of Internet of things and wireless sensor networks done by researchers are reviewed. The major highlights of these works are also mentioned in this paper. This paper also lists the outcomes of these works considered by the researchers. There are billions of connected IoT devices today. The scientists expect that the number of devices can multiply every year in a regular manner. This paper can accelerate further research in this area
