Short Review on the Particle Image Velocimetry in Fluid Mechanics

Abstract

In this short review, the reports by few authors on particle image velocimetry are briefly described.  The features of particle image velocimetry are briefly mentioned. Also, in this short review, an experimental demonstration on microfluidic flow is presented by Mukhopadhyay as author. A single microchannel bend is fabricated by microfabrication techniques. Dyed water is prepared as working liquid. The surface-driven capillary flow of dyed water is recorded and shown corresponding to the fabricated device. Micro particle image velocimetry (µPIV) may be the useful technique to analyse this surface-driven capillary flow in future.
