Abstract

Fine migration is an important multidisciplinary area of research encompassing petroleum engineering in broad and reservoir simulation in particular along with its usage in other engineering discipline like transport of particulate suspensions in a variety of industrial and natural process namely wastewater treatment, propagation of pollutants in subsurface environment, fouling of membranes etc. A brief overview of fine migration through the porous media is discussed and a comparative account of the available models namely macroscopic model, population balance model and network model are elaborated.
