Abstract

The objective of given paper is to provide peer review on the history of planetary rovers. It provides inference that the historic pioneering venture from Lunokhod to Curiosity were made possible by following pioneering strategies, also a sustained effort of science and exploration missions in space with unceasingly more capable technologies. This journey encourages curiosity, competitions, inventions, innovations, revolutions, discoveries and gives a solid foundation for future pioneering space. NASA developed a set of strategic principles for space exploration and simply divided its approach towards Mars into three phases that will increase the successes and benefits in pioneering over the coming decades. This paper also consists of short descriptions about present rover missions and a new era of planetary rovers. The reason behind to study the history of planetary rover is that, last year on October 4, 2017 human had completed 50 years in space exploration. As this pioneering endeavor carries out the direction since October 4, 1957 when the Soviets launched the first artificial satellite Sputnik 1 into space. In 2020 human may celebrate their 50 years for planetary rovers in space. In the last 50 years, human achieves so many things in pioneering space, now it is time to recall that and inspire future pioneers. Keywords: Planetary rover, pioneering, pioneering principlesCite this ArticleOmkar Patil, Niraj Shivtarkar, Sneha Sengupta et al.
