Abstract

Lipomas are most commonly encountered benign tumors in surgical pathology. Angiolipoma is a rare vascular variant of the benign lipomatous tumors and is generally seen in subcutaneous tissues. Angiolipomas are usually found in the upper extremities, shoulder and back. They usually occur as painful soft tissue masses and may compress the neighbouring structures (e.g., nerves) depending on their size and location. We report a 40-year-old female with swelling in her forearm from past four years. Clinical examination showed a firm, mobile, nontender mass approximately 10 x 3 cm in size in her anterolateral aspect of right forearm. Angiolipoma was confirmed on histopathologic evaluation. The diagnosis was based on both clinical and histologic characteristics. The treatment was surgical excision. Keywords: Angiolipoma, lipomatous, histologically, tumours, benignCite this ArticleMohammad Shakeel Ansari, Rabia Nizam, Fazlur Rehman, Fatima Jabeen.
