A Cosmetic Study on Neem (Azadaricta Indica) Oil Extracts over the Management of Alopecia with Dermatitis

Abstract

The Present study was a Prospective observational and Interventional study conducted among the 120 patients who visited Cosmetic Clinics located in R.T. Nagar, Bangalore, Karnataka, India on daily basis were monitored for the present study over a Minimum period 4 months from 16th April 2020 to 16th August 2021. The Patient demographics and all medically relevant information was noted in a predefined Data collection form. Alternatively, these case charts, all the laboratory investigations, followed up for assessing observed, reviewed and used for comparative analysis for the present study. All the patients were categorized into two groups named as TEST (the patients who were on allopathic medications along with usage of Azadaricta Indica (Neem) oil for the effective control of alopecia with dermatitis) and CONTROL (the patients who were with usage of only allopathic medications for the effective control of alopecia with dermatitis). TEST GROUP: The TEST group were asked to use the Azadaricta Indica (Neem) oil regularly who were compared with CONTROL group for the study of improvement of symptoms, disease progression of alopecia with dermatitis assess the duration of cosmetic therapy and to assess its risks and benefits. A total of 120 patients were selected for the study, in which 66 patients were males remaining 54 patients were females and 78 (65%) patients were literates and 42 (35%) patients were Illiterates’. 61 out of 66 male patients with 92.4242 out of 100 percentage have showed improvement in alopecia symptoms with dermatitis raising their positive feed backs over Azadaricta Indica (Neem) oil usage and 52 out of 54 female patients with 96.296 out of 100 percentage have showed improvement in alopecia symptoms with dermatitis raising their positive feed backs over Azadaricta Indica (Neem) oil usage. This Research provides guideline on the use of Azadaricta Indica (Neem) oil on the preparation of Cosmetic herbal hair oil having minimal or no side effects. All the parameters showed that they are within the limits and since all the ingredients added have many advantages, this oil will help in maintaining good growth of hair, turning grey hair to black, and reduces the dermatitis involved with alopecia.
