Present work signified the potential of high temperature solution combustion synthesis (SCS) in rapid fabrication of “covalent-ionic” bonded organometallic aluminate. Natural herb “Piper longum” was used to obtain carbon. Aluminum nitrate served as a base chemical for oxide transformation. Exothermic platform for ignition was provided by propellant urea. Overall explosive decomposition of solution based precursor materials on typical temperature 700°C results in formation of organometallic C-γ-alumina in a well dry environment. FTIR spectrum confirmed the molecular bonding of covalent carbon atoms with ionic γ-phase of alumina by a ketone group (C=O) at point 1723.09 cm-1. Crystallite size (29.11 nm) and crystalline phases were evaluated by X-Ray diffraction. High resolution Transmission and scanning electron micrographs disclosed rough surface morphology of nano C-γ-alumina in a variable range of particle size distribution.
