In the modern era of science, copper nanoparticles (Cu-Nps), attributable to their fascinating properties, low price preparation and lots of potential applications in chemical process, cooling fluid or semiconducting inks and bio applications, have attracted lots of interest. Cu-Nps gains attention from its useful properties like the great thermal and electrical physical phenomenon at less cost unlike silver. In this study, the synthesis, optical properties, morphology and bacterial behavior of Cu-Nps are reported. They are synthesized by chemical method and analyzed by UV-VIS spectroscopy, particle size analysis and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Antimicrobial effect against different strains of microbial species and the zone of inhibition of growth of microbes are investigated. The results from this work would form basis to analyze the concentration of Cu-Nps at which bacteria can be killed or inhibit the growth.
