Geospatial Evidence of Shrinking Freshwater Lakes of the World: Selected Case Studies
Abstract: This study aims to investigate the receding water level of five freshwater lakes due to their respective cause. The chosen lakes are Lake Hulun from China, Lake Mead from USA, Lake Chad from Africa, Lake Titicaca from South America and Dal Lake from India. The usage of multi-temporal satellite imageries, from Landsat 4-5 and Landsat 8 are undertaken for the observation of the contracting lakes. The best fitted index, Modified …

Radiosonde Data Analysis for Predicting the Thunderstorm Potential Instabilities in Tropics
Abstract: The Gangetic belt of West Bengal of India is one of the most effective zones of atmospheric instabilities. The formation of the instabilities follows complex method whose clear understanding is very essential. The present work reports a model for its prediction system. The instabilities at the thunderstorms in the pre-monsoon and monsoon seasons for a period of two years exhibit interesting findings. Taking support of different meteorological parameters as derived …

On the Velocity Perturbation of Fragments Resulting From In-orbit Satellite Fragmentation
Abstract: Fragmentation event resulting from in-orbit breakup of a satellite spawn multifarious debris particles which emanate from the source resulting in the distribution of velocities. However, the fragments generated from the event undergo certain perturbations in their velocities under the influence of the intensity and cause of the event. Therefore, magnitudes and directions of the velocity perturbations indicate the nature and intensity of the event. The work in the present manuscript …

Method of Obtaining of Concentrate of Rapidly Reproducing Microalga for Converting of the Emitted Carbon Dioxide into Oxygen and Food Biomass for Feeding of the Crew of an International Space Station during Long Flights
Abstract: It is known that the use of microalga solves the problem of utilizing carbonic acid formed during the life of astronauts and replenishing oxygen in the spacecraft atmosphere. There is evidence that among the mass of microalga used for research as oxygen products for space flights, chlorella and spirulina are suitable. In the field of creating a life support system (LSS) of the International Space Station (ISS), research is being …
