Evaluation of Anti-ulcer Activity of Ethanolic Extract of Salacia fruticosa and Oldenlandia Umbellata
Abstract: In this present study the aerial and root parts of Salacia fruticosa and the entire herb of Oldenlandia umbellate were evaluated for its anti-ulcer property in Aspirin induced ulcer model and Pylorus ligation assays. Both plant materials were extracted with ethanol and given at the dose level of 200mg/kg orally after the LD50 studies to fix the dose. Ulcer index, free acidity and total acidity in pylorus ligated and aspirin …

Standardization and Diuretic Activity of Hydro-alcoholic Extract of Mukia maderaspatana Whole Plant in Experimental Rats
Abstract: In this present study, the purity of Mukia maderaspatana a Cucurbitaceae plant in powdered form was standardized by the common physico-chemical analysis like ash values, extractive values and moisture content. The results show that total ash, sulfated ash, water soluble ash and acid-insoluble ash of 21.5% w/w, 33% w/w, 10% w/w and 2.5% w/w respectively were up to standard. The water-soluble and alcohol-soluble extractive values were 8.5 and 3.2% w/w …

Synthesis and Evaluation of Novel 3-(5-phenyl-3H-1,2,4] Dithiazol-3-yl)-4H-chromen-4-one Derivatives for Antimicrobial Activity
Abstract: A novel 3-(5-phenyl-3H-1,2,4] dithiazol-3-yl)-4H-chromen-4-one derivatives 16a–d were synthesized and evaluated for antimicrobial activity, i.e., antifungal and antibacterial activities. The in vitro antifungal evaluation revealed that the compounds 16d showed maximum activity against Geotrichum candidum. The compound 16a showed significantly good activity against Candidum tropicalis. The compounds 16b and 16c did not show any significant antifungal activity. The in vitro antibacterial activity showed no significant results against different bacterial strains. It …
