Dissolution Enhancement in Nano/Micro-Sized Dispersions of Piroxicam with the Novel Polymer Soluplus® and Polyvinyl Pyrrolidone
Abstract: Piroxicam, a Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug (NSAID), belongs to the class II of the biopharmaceutical classification system (BCS) and thus exhibits poor bioavailability. In an effort to tackle this issue, we report here the comparative properties of the solid dispersions of piroxicam made from a novel graft copolymer of polyvinyl caprolactam-polyvinyl acetate-polyethylene glycol (Soluplus) and the linear polymer polyvinyl pyrrolidone (K 25), both the dispersions synthesized identically using solvent evaporation method. …

Effects of High Dose of Ethanolic Extract of Luffa cylindrica on Rat Uterus
Abstract: The objective of the present study was to investigate the various aspects of uterus and uterine histology in cyclic female albino rats to gain insights into the possible mechanism of antifertility effect of the ethanolic extract of Luffa cylindrica. High dose level (0.5 mg/ml) of ethanoloic leaf extract of Luffa cylindrica was administered to determine the effect of the extract on uterine histology of female albino rats. The high dose …

Synthesis, Crosslinking and Evaluation of Graft Polymer for Biomedical Use
Abstract: The objective of this research was focused on grafting of acrylic acid (AA) with hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) to obtain copolymers of hydrogels with improved properties for ease of administration and reducing the dose frequency, improved patient compliance and comfort of sustained release medication. Water-absorbing polymers for hydrogels, the swellable polymeric materials have been widely investigated as the carrier for drug delivery system. These are the advanced polymer systems that hold …
