Homology Modeling and in silico Characterization of a Hypothetical Protein of Arabidopsis lyrata ssp. Lyrata
Abstract: Arabidopsis lyrata, a plant belonging to brassicaceae, is a model organism for studying evolutionary and ecological genetics. Most of the proteins of this plant have remained uncharacterized and their functional roles are still to be elucidated. In this investigation, we have attempted to characterize one such hypothetical protein in terms of its physico-chemical properties, secondary and tertiary structure features by in silico study. The protein was classified under glycoside hydrolase …

Induction of Specific Cytotoxic Lymphocytes in Goats Vaccinated with Fractionated Antigens of Brucella melitensis 16M
Abstract: The present study investigated the ability of different fractionated antigens of Brucella melitensis 16M to induce cytotoxic T-lymphocytes. For this study, soluble Lipopolysaccharide and outer membrane protein antigens were fractionated by using gel filtration chromatography and found 6, 5 and 5 fractions respectively of each antigen. All the regions of antigens were analyzed for their ability to induce cytotoxic T-lymphocytes. This study investigated that SAG5, LPG1 and OMPG4 induce maximum …

Isolation of Bioactive Molecules from Ficus racemosa – Its Biochemical Characterization and in silico Analysis of Antimicrobial Studies
Abstract: Many herbal remedies have been employed in various medical systems for the treatment and management of different diseases. In this study, the purpose is to extract and isolate the alkaloid from leaf-galls of Ficus racemosa plant using suitable solvents by soxhlet extracter and performing the antimicrobial activities against different bacterial and fungal strains and in silico analysis on membrane proteins, outer membrane protein A tran-membrane domain (OmpA) and Feruloyl esterase …

Prevalence of HIV and TB Co-infection: Mumbai Scenario
Abstract: HIV, being the most powerful risk factor, has made the reappearance and progression of tuberculosis easier. The partnership of HIV and TB is a major health problem in both developed and developing countries. The present study was undertaken in Mumbai to study the prevalence of HIV and TB coinfection in patients who visited the tertiary care centers in the city. Both HIV and TB were diagnosed using nucleic acid amplification …

Production of Bio-ethanol from Waste Materials
Abstract: This work finds the production of bio-ethanol using suitable enzymes and yeast strains. It further tests for the presence of bio-ethanol in the fermented product both quantitatively and qualitatively in the laboratory. Moreover, it aims to evaluate the feasibility of bio-ethanol production from different cellulosic waste materials like wheat straw, waste paper, corn cob, groundnut shell, wood bark, saw dust, bagasse and a combined mixture of all. Two strains of …

Separation Trends of Waste Metal Working Fluid from Aqueous Media
Abstract: This paper envisages compiling the scattered available information about the treatment technologies and simple sorption procedures for the removal of waste metal working fluids (MWFs) from machining waste water. Some advantages of sorption technique through agro-waste materials over conventional treatment technologies for the MWFs removal are also the focusing objectives of this paper. Sorbents usually contains various active groups; they are robust and can be the better part of filtration …

In vitro Cultivation of Trifolium Alexandrium L. as a Forage Crop for Sustainability of Pastoral Ecosystem
Abstract: Trifolium alexandrium L., commonly known as Berseem or clover, is an important leguminous winter fodder crop. In comparison to other legumes and grasses, clover provides forage with high nutritional value and quality. Hence, introduction of Berseem (clover) in existing pastoral ecosystem can provide value-added forage that can result in an increased level of animal production and simultaneously enhance stocking rates. Tissue culture is a technique through which we are able …
