EXPERIMENTAL ANALYSIS OF STEELS ON HARDNESS IN ELECTRICAL DISCHARGE MACHINING
Abstract: Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) is one of the most extensively used non-conventional machining processes. It uses thermal energy to machine all electrically conductive materials of any toughness and hardness for manufacturing of dies, aerospace parts. Since there is no direct contact between workpiece and tool electrode in EDM. Work material hardness is not a hurdle in machining by EDM, which is principally useful for machining of die profiles/ contours. This paper …

Performance Analysis and Emission Study of a C.I. Engine using Butanol, Biodiesel and Diesel Blends
Abstract: Biodiesel, which has been projected as an alternative to diesel fuel, can be made an attractive and viable substitute by use of a non-glyceride type of readily available, renewable and economic resources like acid oil. The production and consumption of biodiesel will increase in future due to ecofriendly, and possibility of use of existing engines of a motor vehicle without the need for major adjustments. Biodiesel and diesel fuel are …

Prediction of Bead Geometry Parameters using Response Surface Methodology and Finite Element Analysis of Gas Metal Arc Welded Joints of Aluminum Alloy
Abstract: Gas Metal Arc welding process aims to produce welded joint with the excellent mechanical properties with minimum distortion and desired weld bead parameters. In welding, input process parameters decides the quality of weld joint. Manufacturer are facing problem of controlling the process input parameters to obtain a good welded joint with the bead geometry. Prediction of weld bead geometry play very important role in determining the quality of weld. This …

Evaluation of the effect of fuel preheat on the performance and emission of a diesel engine using regression analysis.
Abstract: In this work an attempt was made to determine the effects of loading in Kirloskar 3.7 kW single cylinder, four stroke, compression ignition engine with “diesel and biofuel”as fuels. The effects of ‘fuel preheat’ on brake power and emission characteristics were investigated. The fuel preheat temperature was increased from 35C to 50C and emissions like CO and HC were found to be decreasing considerably, but, slight increase in brake power …

Design and Analysis of The Supporting Frame Structure of Cold Aggregate Feeder Unit of Asphalt Mixing Plant
Abstract: Mixture of aggregates and asphalt is prepared at Asphalt Mixing Plant (AMP). For a uniform output from plant, feeding the exact amounts of aggregate from feeder unit is very important. So, aggregate feed is one of the critical control point. Problem discussed here is about the lateral deflection of column of supporting frame structure of feeder unit. This research work deals with the evaluation and modification of supporting frame structure …

EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF WELDING PROCESS PARAMETERS ON MECHANICAL PROPERTIES FOR TIG WELDED AUSTENITIC STAINLESS STELL 304 JOINTS
Abstract: Minimally invasive surgeries are the most elusive, yet highly demanded subset of surgeries which requires precise knowledge of the pertinent patient. Compared to conventional surgeries, minimally invasive surgeries are characterized by less pain, low risk of infection, lesser scarring, etc. In the status quo, doctors use intuition through experience to determine the parameters for surgery such as the force required to cut, size of cut, depth of cut, etc. With …

Mathematical Modelling of Electromagnetic Induction Coil gun for Non-Lethal Self Defence Applications
Abstract: To take someone's life is often termed as the biggest slanders spiritually one can commit be it while protecting one's self from endangering acts. Non-lethal weapons provide us with an opportunity to come over this dilemma thereby providing a numbing effect to save from devastating consequences. The objective of this paper is to present a non-lethal portable induction coilgun that can potentially address security concerns. To serve the respect and …

Optimal Design of Gusset plate and Analysis of Bailey Steel Truss Joint
Abstract: In order to achieve safe and economic steel structure joint, we are going to design a gusset plate such that its shape is optimized by achieving the same amount of strength. In conventional method of designing a joint we make sure that gusset plate is able to bear the load and joint is safe, but lot of material is wasted where there is no stress induced. So, to avoid this …

CONDITION BASED MONITORING AND FAULT DIAGONISTICS OF A MACHINE
Abstract: This piece of study shows the existing condition based monitoring and fault diagnostics techniques in a machine. Vibrations are produced in every machine and their amplitude depends upon the type of faults present in the machine, for example, gear fault, journal bearing, rolling contact bearing, flexible coupling and electrical machine faults. The main challenge for the condition monitoring of the machines is the cost and complexity of condition machine monitoring …
