Comparison of the Compressive Strength of Concrete Made with Palm Kernel Shell and Gravel as Coarse Aggregates
Abstract: The investigation of alternative materials for the construction, comparison of the compressive strength of concrete made with palm kernel shell as coarse aggregate and concrete made with gravel. A mix proportion of 1:2:4 with water cement ratio of 0.6, ordinary Portland cement, PKS, gravel and sand were used for this research. 24 cubes were cast and tested for compressive strength at 7, A14, 21 and 28 days. The result showed …

Characteristics of Hydrated Concrete Mix by Using Steel Slag
Abstract: Steel slag is derived from steel manufacturing industry and is produced in burned steel production furnaces. Those produced steel slags can be consumed as coarse or fine aggregates in the construction of civil engineering structures while preparing the concrete. It is usually used as aggregate in hot mix asphalt surface purposes. However, in numerous numbers of recent researches it has been observed that there is a possibility of consuming this …

A Review on Sustainable Building with Recycled Concrete
Abstract: There are various advantages of using high strength concrete as it not only reduces the structural dimension but also help in gaining cost cutting and more profits in high rise structure with reduction of dead load, and self-weight of the structure, also help in reducing the formwork area and cost saving due to smaller foundations beds. Beside this rise in construction industry with the help of concrete, there are huge …
