Bioresins: An Environment Friendly Product
Abstract: Increased use of synthetic and natural products is releasing harmful toxins into the environment. This leads to the depletion of natural resources and creates environment imbalance. Therefore, awareness is expressed by the media and different government sectors towards environmental sustainability. Industries are targeted, compelled to meet challenges to produce improved environment friendly products with competitive performance. Bioresins are emerging industrial products derived from natural renewable components. Biobased resins made from …

Nano Cellulose: A Bionano Material from Lignocellulosic Biomass
Abstract: In paper industry, nano technological advances are of great importance in targeting high quality, efficiency and market potential. Lignocellulosic biomass is a natural biopolymer with cellulose fibrils in a matrix of lignin and hemi cellulose. One of the most relevant nanomaterials of our paper industry is nano crystalline cellulose, a renewable, recyclable and abundant nano material obtained from lignocellulosic biomass. Currently the paper industry uses nanotechnology in two ways: to …

Removal of Cadmium from Aqueous Solution by Modified Sawdust as Adsorbent
Abstract: The study was carried out to determine the percentage removal efficiency of heavy metal like cadmium by using the modified form of sawdust as an adsorbent. Cadmium is highly toxic to human, plant and all living organism present in the environment. It was found that the chemically treated sawdust is a better adsorbent as compare to the untreated form of sawdust. After treating the sawdust with sodium hydroxide (NaOH), it …

Recovery of Struvite from Java Plum Leaves
Abstract: AbstractBio-degradation and leaching of java plum leaves liberates phosphate and can be recovered as struvite. Quantity of P2O5 obtained recoverable is 0.3009 g of P2O5/kg of leaves. Concentration of NaOH, ammonia, Magnesium sulphate was varied in aliquot. Process optimum variables were 12 g of 1N NaOH, 15 ml liquor ammonia, 5 g of magnesium sulphate yields 9.398 g of P2O5/kg of leave.
