Abstract

In the deregulated electricity market, many Individual Powers Produces (IPP)/Distributed Energy Resources (DER) compete to sell the power. Grid and power flow controlling is a challenging task. In deregulated scenario many market model, according to that the power-flow control has to be done looking at the Available Transfer Capacity (ATC) in the lines. FACTS controllers are well suited to control the active power by injecting/absorbing the reactive power from the lines. Congestion in the system can be avoided by determining the current state of the system in real time and controlling the generation and load demand. In this study, to identify the current state of the deregulated system, determination of ATC is the key factor. The ATC of the lines is calculated by PTDF method which is the index factor of ATC. The simulation is carried out on IEEE-11 bus system using power world simulator. In the deregulated electricity market, many Individual Powers Produces (IPP)/Distributed Energy Resources (DER) are compete to sell the power.
