Abstract

This paper is to resolve the latest scenario in slab caster to suggest fabrication of slab after integrating as well successive next add an addendum formation to end production. Direct thin section produced from existing heat in cast thin slab has been utilized by successive roll reduction and also heat treatment. Endless strip processing (ESP) has linked continuous thin down formation to subject modification of microstructure from as cast to as heat treated grain refinement. Restriction on heat dissipated has inclusive formation to fine grain microstructure formation adoptive from hot roll to prolong rolling act merged economical advent. Thinness upto 1 mm from around 50 mm cast sling have reached at a reduction of 45% expenditure in usual products. Subjective has proctored for production of steels applicable to automotive and marine sectors lying as dual phase (DP) steel, transformation induced plasticity (TRIP) steel and advanced high-strength steels (AHSS). Advanced formation has achieved effects from micro-alloys to induce precipitation in addition to roll-weld of micro void around austenite grains. Thin section cast and rolled down to a decisive thin section has reduced susceptibility to transverse cracks. Removal of inclusions by magnetic pouring method has introduced clean slab fabrication to subject strip form without flaw. On the other hand, taper hot deformation has reduced internal strain at hot state to reduce internal cracks upto strip form.
