Abstract

In the present research work, the basic principles of thermodynamics in mechanical engineering are briefly described. These thermodynamic principles are applied to discover the spatial limit of universe (finite or infinite) by considering the universe as one conceptmechanical-system in third quantisation. According to this research work, universe is progressing by time towards the thermodynamic-state of maximum entropy as most stablestate of universe. This most stable-state may be the final destiny of universe. This present research work is the introduction of relativistic-thermodynamics as a new branch of mechanical engineering invented by Mukhopadhyay as author. Spatial limit of universe is one extreme problem of physics. This research work may be suitable to solve many other extreme problems of physics. This research paper is considered as study-material for the proposed elective-course of Advanced Thermodynamics (M.Tech, Theory) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, National Institute of Technology Arunachal Pradesh, India.
