Abstract

AbstractOrganic electronics has drawn considerable attention of the researchers with organic thin film transistors (OTFTs) as key components for various applications. Compared to the silicon industry where public models are well defined and commonly used to provide designers with a relative good description of any process, organic devices are still lacking for their complete device models that can fully describe their electrical characteristics. Therefore, compact model development for OTFTs is very important for development of this emerging field of OTFTs and organic electronics. In this paper we present a simple and efficient compact model for organic thin film transistor (OTFT) which can describe DC I-V characteristics of N-channel OTFT as well as P-channel OTFT. Model has been implemented in Verilog-A and simulations have been performed using Smart Spice analog circuit simulator from Silvaco Inc.Keywords: Compact modeling, Organic Thin Film Transistors (OTFTs), Simulation Program with Integrated Circuit Emphasis (SPICE), SmartSpice, Verilog-ACite this ArticleNarendra Singh Kushwah, Dwivedi ADD.
