Abstract

The paper proposes a quad-element UWB-MIMO triangular monopole antenna with triple notched bands and high isolation. The antenna comprises four triangular-shaped elements arranged orthogonally, printed on a low-cost FR-4 substrate with a dielectric constant of 4.4. Its dimensions are 50 × 50 × 1.6 mm³, and it operates within the frequency band of 2.97 to 11 GHz. To achieve high isolation of 22 dB between the four radiatingelements, a square ring-shaped metallic barrier is employed. Additionally, triple band rejection is accomplishedat the WiMAX band, WLAN band, and the downlink of the X-band satellite communication system using L-shaped and I-shaped resonant slots. The paper demonstrates a strong agreement between simulation andmeasurement results. This work presents the design and construction of a UWB-MIMO antenna including triplerejected bands and strong isolation. It is made up of four antenna elements that are triangular and orientedorthogonally. A square ring-shaped metallic barrier is used to achieve high isolation between the radiatingelements over the bandwidth range, and L-shaped and I-shaped resonant slots are used to achieve triple bandrejection properties (at WiMAX, WLAN, and the downlink of X-band satellite communication systems).
