Design and Implementation of a Long Range Decentralized Vehicular Network

  1. Aakash Bansal

Abstract

The paper proposes a technique for establishing a long range decentralized vehicular ad-hoc network, with the aim to solve on-road traffic problems faced by drivers and other stakeholders such as cyclists and pedestrians. The proposed technique doesn’t make use of internet connectivity and hence is suitable for both, underdeveloped and developing countries as well. The technology can also be used for navigation purposes and sensing the environment (surrounding vehicles) for a driverless car. The system makes use of a 2.4 GHz ISM Band Transceiver with multiple sensors to sense the inner and outer details of the vehicle and a microcontroller for necessary computations before the transmission of data to other vehicles in the network along with Cluster-Head Gateway Switch Routing Protocol.
