Abstract

AbstractSoil is a non‐renewable natural resource that is very essential for life on the planet. Land use, water movement, water quality and vegetation productivity all are basically related to soil. About, all the food products that we consume in our everyday life, is grown in the earth's soils. Soils serve are providing an excellent medium to diminish pollutants and absorb excess water, groundwater recharge, nutrient cycling, and a suitable habitat for microorganisms and biota. The present article introduces many important concepts related to soil including development, classification, physical, chemical, and biological properties. A general understanding of soil concepts and these interwoven relationships is essential to making sound land management decisions. Keywords: Resource, conservation, ground water, vegetation, pollutantCite this ArticleKavita Shukla.
