Abstract

One of the advantages of friction stir welding process is its ability to join dissimilar metals and alloys. The objective of this study was to study the possibility of joining two dissimilar Al alloys, typically A6082 and A6083 using in FSW. In this experiment, joint properties of A6082 and 6063 were studied. Three parameters considered were tool rotation speed, welding speed, depth of cut with three levels; and nine runs were used to run experiment. Analysis of variance was then performed to check the adequacy of developed models. Finally, optimal parameters setting was identified by performing optimization through desirability approach functions.Cite this Article Jasvir Singh, Charanjit Singh, Khushdeep Goyal et. al.
