Abstract

The aim of this research is to demonstrate the application of Buckingham  theorem to monitor procurement delivery of Walnut wood. In this investigation, wood material of walnut wood density, constant area, diameter and velocity was used to monitor, predict and simulate the weight, delivery time and tensile strength on the truck. The walnut wood material was investigated in terms of delivery time, tensile strength and the effect on the truck was the same as the delivery time because the tensile strength influences the speed of the truck.  The delivery time and tensile strength of the walnut wood model was developed and the developed model was simulated using MATLAB and computational values were obtained for walnut in terms of tensile strength and delivery time. The obtained result reveals increase in tensile strength with respect to increase in density and the value of density is within the range of 641 to 657 ML-3 whereas the corresponding value of tensile strength is within the range of 579400 to 592055 ML-2T-2 respectively. Similarly, the variation in the tensile strength was related to the delivery time which shows a range of Td values of 47.59 to 48.56 with variation in density. However, the computed values of tensile strength and delivery time was 0bserved to have influence by the density and weight of the wood. The combination of the Buckingham theorem of  , ,  and  constrains yielded a mathematical expression with constants coefficient of , , and . The evaluated coefficients value of  is 2.205,  is 0.1038 and  0.00391 which was substituted to the obtained equation of the solution. The obtained general solution of the equation can be found useful in monitoring, predicting and simulating the effect of wood density on delivery time, tensile strength and weight input on the truck.
