Effect of Complexation of Copper with a Preferred Amino acid of Saccharomyces cerevisiae NCIM 3558 on its MetabolismBy K. S. Karthikeyan, M Rajender, K. Sivarama Sastry
Abstract: The present work studies the effect on the growth of Saccharomyces cerevisiae NCIM 3558when copper sulphate pentahydrate is complexed with a preferred amino acid of S.cerevisiaeNCIM. The study showed the fact that not only the amino acid or ligand but also the metal ioninvolved is an important factor for the biological effects of ligand–metal complexes effects onyeast metabolism per se. Studies are elaborated extensively. Keywords: Saccharomyces cerevisiae, glutamine copper, antagonist, glucose …

Effect of a Binary Amino Acid Chromium Complex on the Carbon Metabolism of Saccharomyces cerevisiae NCIM 3558By K.S. Karthikeyan, K. Sivarama Sastry
Abstract: In the present study, the difference in the growth rate of Saccharomyces cerevisiae strain NCIM 3558 in the presence of simple binary amino acid chromium complex glutamine chromium is analysed. It is observed for the first time that on complexation of an L-amino acid with trivalent chromium leads to a substantial increase in the rate of utilization of the carbon skeleton of an amino acid viz-a viz the free amino …
