  Engineering Fatty Acid Oxidation Pathway for the Production of Yeast-based Monomers

  Abstract: Yeast-based monomers have a wider application in many fields and used for polymer production. Yeast system is used to improve the production of such valuable monomers by exploiting the metabolic pathways of interest. Alkane-utilizing yeasts mediate the fatty acid catabolism inside the peroxisomes primarily through beta (β) oxidation pathway, which breaks up the long chain fatty acids resulting in the synthesis of energy producing molecules.
