Investigation of Photocatalytic Properties of Microwave Hydrothermal Synthesized ZnO, SnO2 and ZnO/SnO2 Nanocomposites
Abstract: The coupled ZnO-SnO2 photocatalyst system is one of the coupled semiconductor systems which is extensively employed in photocatalytic applications. ZnO, SnO2 and ZnO/SnO2 composite nanoparticles with three different molar ratios were successfully synthesized via a simple, low cost microwave assisted method using zinc nitrate (Zn(NO3)2.6H2O) and stannous chloride (SnCl2.2H2O) as precursors. The ZnO/SnO2 nanoparticles exhibited higher photocatalytic activities compared to pure ZnO, SnO2 nanoparticles and appreciable highest photocatalytic activity, and …

A Review on Applications of MgO based Nanocomposite Materials
Abstract: Metal oxide nanoparticles are materials of interest because of their special properties like chemical stability, photocatalytic activity, antibacterial activity due to the presence of oxygen. Among all the metal oxide particles, MgO nanoparticles were of special interest due to their anionic vacancies. MgO nanocomposite particles have non-toxic and odourless nature which makes them a suitable material for a wide range of applications. The properties that make MgO nanoparticles distinct are …
