Abstract: AbstractStudy based on ecology, biogeography and geological history of the species Telescopium telescopium (Linnaeus 1758) from Chandipur-on-Sea is the main stay of the present work. The genus though appeared in Late Miocene is monotypic and at present restricted to Indo-West Pacific.
