Adaptive Mechanisms of Rumen Microbiota to High-Fiber Diets: Mystery of Fiber Degradation and Nutrient Utilization for Improved Host Performance
Abstract: The rumen microbiota plays a critical role in the digestion of plant fibers, enabling herbivores to derive essential nutrients from fibrous feed sources. The adaptation of these microbial communities to high-fiber diets is crucial for optimizing fiber degradation and nutrient utilization. This study explores the mechanisms by which rumen microbes adjust to handle the complex structure of fibrous materials such as cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin. Through an integrated approach, we …

Microbial Competition in the Rumen: Insights into Fermentation Kinetics, Host Health, and Environmental Sustainability
Abstract: Microbial competition within the rumen is a crucial determinant of fermentation efficiency, nutrient utilization, and overall host health in ruminant animals. The complex microbial community in the rumen comprises bacteria, protozoa, fungi, and archaea, all of which interact in intricate and often competitive ways to degrade feed and produce essential metabolites. This competition significantly influences fermentation kinetics, determining the rate and efficiency of carbohydrate, protein, and fat breakdown. Such microbial …

An Overview of Microbial Diversity in the Functions of Wetland Ecosystems
Abstract: Wetlands serve as abundant reservoirs of biodiversity, crucial for the well-being of both humanity and the natural world. They represent the most critical and fertile ecosystem, where water predominantly dictates the environment and the plant and animal species that inhabit it. Wetlands have diverse microbial flora and fauna, which play essential roles in ecosystems. Soil and aquatic microorganisms mediate many processes, such as biogeochemical cycles, waste decomposition, symbiotic relationships, and …

Estimation of Microbes on Phyllopalne Region of Healthy and Infected Leaf of Ipomoea cairica by Leaf Impression Method
Abstract: Phylloplane is the leaf surface itself that harbors a variety of microorganism both pathogens and saprophyte. An infection was reported on Ipomoea cairica plant in DDU Gorakhpur University campus. A general study was conducted on the microbial diversity on the healthy and infected leaf by leaf impression method. The study revealed growth of microbes which would have served as the causative pathogens infecting the plant.
